Darrell Grant’s MJ New celebrates the release of their debut album Our Mr. Jackson.

“A decade since I first brought bassist Marcus Shelby, vibraphonist Mike Horsfall, and drummer Carlton Jackson together to play, the debut album of MJ New is coming out on October 6th! Our Mr. Jackson is a document of the birth of this ensemble; an homage to the music of John Lewis, Milt Jackson, Percy Heath, and Connie Kay; and a loving tribute to our friend Carlton who we lost too soon. Please join us for this intimate performance—we’ll share stories, music from the album and a few new things, raise a few glasses, and keep it cool.”
